Who would have thought that we could enjoy a great night like this after a year of living with COVID restrictions! An outstanding effort by Amelia, Melissa, Felicity, Tara and Trish allowed us to recognise the achievements of riders, horses and volunteers at our annual dinner. Held at the central location of Longford, this year’s event came with the usual live music and dancing, but in addition, we were treated to the previously hidden vocal talents of some riders – one in particular!
I’m sure I speak for all in thanking the outgoing SMC for the great work they did in 2020 to get rides happening in a COVID environment, and for those staging this celebration event when just weeks before they couldn’t even be sure it would be permitted.
On the business side of things our AGM, which preceded the dinner, saw some new people step up to serve on the 2021 SMC. A key sentiment expressed at the AGM, and at the subsequent SMC meeting, was recognition of the need to keep members informed. As a first step, minutes of those meetings are already available on the TEERA website.
